...Initially recorded as a track by the original four members of Snug Harbor in the winter of 2008. This, as all of their music, was recorded in a live setting by funk legend Joel Ricci on his 4-track, in his living room in Bellingham.

The song was named In Cuba, because we wrote much of the album the week before recording it, as we had only been playing together for a short while. During one of our jams, Will's father had called, who was in Cuba at the time visiting his wife. Will picked up his cell phone at practice (as per usual), and let the jam be heard to an audience on speaker phone over 3,000 miles away. After the song was over, the living room full of people in Cuba were cheering, not sure if they had heard any music like that before. The name, feel, and energy in the song is dedicated to discovering new sounds all around you. Every day of our lives, new sounds are being heard, interpreted and and created. So enjoy!
