about

The Apothecary Sessions, like most of Snug Harbor's music, is recorded in a live studio setting. Simply, this means that many microphones were placed in a room, ran through a board and just pressed record, so what you hear is what you get. Very minimal (if any) mixing, over-dubs, editing, effects, etc.. I feel, although mistakes are prevelant, it displays a very honest version of music. This way, when you hear Snug Harbor live, it is similar to the album, if not better! It is our attempt to make honest, organic music, in a cost effective-way. No fancy studio magic, no over-produced nonsense, just us.

Recorded by the original members of Snug Harbor in the winter of '07, The Apothecary Sessions serves as a foundation of songs in which the band was based upon. While this album was being recorded the band was at it's very inception, still deciding on a name. This album served as a record in which to show friends, family, and venues, we were willing and eager to play for them.

The album took place in a few different locations with differerent engineers: first a lo-fi four track recording with Joel Ricci (Lucky Brown). The second part of the album consists of a live-studio recording with Mars Lindgren (Yogoman Burning Band).
